DMA Nationals 09

Wow, what a week so far!!!! It is yet another Nationals, currently half way through the week and it has been great. It's Makayla's first real Nationals competing for a title and what does she do, RUNNER UP!!!! She caught all her one spins in her routine and had 3 silly drops but looked awesome! We are so proud of her :) We are still waiting for the results of the Advance and Elite titles which will be in the next few days, so I will try to post again soon. Enjoy the pics and continue to check our PSOB website!
Below is our showteam who got 2nd place with their routine! They did a great job for the first time having a show team! Here they are, our 3 time National Outstanding Twirl Team! What a great bunch of girls :) They did a one drop for their winning performance and then were asked to perform at the Opening Ceremonies and there did a NO DROP! It was amazing. Please watch their performance on our web page at www.paulasschoolofbaton.com

Last night swimming....

As some of you may or may not know, Mason has started swimming for the Mt Joy Lions Swim team this year. He is loving it and is doing really well for his first year on swim team. He has been swimming exhibition freestyle, backstroke, and a live relay heat. Each time he swims he gets faster and is decreasing his time. At last nights swim meet against East Petersburg, he was able to finish his backstroke race without being disqualified. In the past meets he has been DQ'd because he can't make the whole length of the pool and stops to take a break. If you get off of your back, you are DQ'd. It was big milestone last night for him to make the whole length without stopping. He doesn't use his arms much yet but will continue to practice. He will be participating in the Divisionals next Sat! Enjoy the videos of his races from last evening! GO MJ LIONS!!!!

4th of July weekend

What a great 4th of July weekend we had in the mts, with all of my family and friends. The boys went up with Nan and Pap on Wed evening. Makayla, Matt and I arrived Thurs eve with Matt and Ani. We were greeted with smiling faces and a round of drinks and relaxation! Friday the men got up and had some outdoor projects to work on, while us ladies did our yearly excursion to Walmart. We did however find a place in Huntingdon that sells Vera Bradley so we were set. Here is some pics of the human monkey (my husband of course) climbing the tree to be cut down. They had lots of trees to cut down and Matt was in charge of tying the rope at the top of the tree! Go figure!
On Saturday, we headed to the lake for some sun, while Mom and Dad went to a wedding in Pittsburgh. We had a great time at Raystown although the sun didn't stay out to long. That's okay we made the best of it!
Makayla and 4th of July bathing suit!

My kids
Aunt Christy's famous 4th of July glasses! They match your suit well Makayla!

Playing in the sand

My precious little nephew Bode had a great time swimming as well!

After some of the gang headed back to the cabin, some of us stayed to get some rides on the jet ski. Cousin Nic was great to take the kids out on rides before we left to go home! Makayla loved going fast!
Mason and Nic
Matthew got the last ride and helped load the jet ski on the trailor.
Sat eve we had our fire with roasting marshmellows and hot dogs and our wonderful display of fireworks (from Walmart) put on by our men!
What an adorable face!
Lisa and Ani
Sparkler time

It was a late night with lots of good times, and the glasses were out again! I think they became the infamous "drunk glasses" that evening! Christy and Lisa being silly! What a great weekend!
